Check MyEngine Light

Terms

Last updated: November 3, 2026. These terms are between you and Harris Apps Studio, the developer of Check My Engine Light and the app Check Engine Light: OBD2 Scan. By using the website or the app you agree to them.

Estimates, not repairs

Check My Engine Light explains what your car reports and gives estimates. It is not a mechanic and it does not inspect your car. Explanations, urgency levels and price ranges are estimates only. A mechanic should confirm before you decide on a repair. Never ignore warning signs like a flashing check engine light, a climbing temperature gauge, the oil light or a burning smell.

Clearing codes

Clearing codes does not fix a problem and resets the emissions monitors, so a car may fail an inspection until it has been driven for a few days. You choose when to clear codes.

Subscriptions and purchases

Pro is $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. A Used-Car Check without Pro is $9.99 per car, one time. Purchases are made through Google Play and renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the app (Garage, then Subscription, then Manage or cancel) or in Google Play. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.

Fair use

Quote Check is included in Pro up to 10 times a month. We may limit automated or unusual use that would harm the service for others.

Adapters and your car

Use a standard ELM327 compatible adapter and follow its instructions. Do not use the app while driving. We are not responsible for damage caused by third party adapters.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
