What usually causes it
- A failed ignition coil
- A loose or rusty plug on the coil
- A worn spark plug that strains the coil
- Damaged wiring
An ignition coil makes the high voltage spark that lights the fuel in a cylinder. The computer found an electrical problem with coil B, and the letter does not always match the cylinder number.
Unplug the connector on the coil and plug it back in firmly. Old spark plugs often wear out coils, so check when they were last changed.
